Here are some films that influence Jannah's careers and the work she hopes to make in the near future.

Misery (1990)

Being an avid fan of psychological thrillers, Misery is easily one of Jannah's favourite films. She is drawn to the techniques Rob Reiner uses in directing this film which instills a great sense of fear in the audience.

Lost In Translation (2003)

Platonic yet romantic - this is how Jannah would describe the relationship between the two protagonists in this film. Jannah inspires to, one day, create perfect on-screen chemistry of characters from completely different backgrounds like how Sofia Coppola has successfully done in this film.

Léon: The Professional (1994)

Similar to her fascination for the protagonists' relationships in Lost In Translation (2003), Jannah is drawn to the characters and their unorthodox relationship in Léon: The Professional (1994).

Taxi Driver (1976)

Jannah is inspired by the timelessness of Martin Scorcese's films. Years after the release of Taxi Driver (1976), it is still widely looked discussed and admired by industry professionals.

Thelma and Louise (1991)

Jannah greatly admires Ridley Scott for developing such strong characters which Jannah found very enjoyable to watch.

Silence Of The Lambs (1991)

Aside from its stunning visuals, Jannah is inspired by Wong Kar-wai's ability to keep audiences engaged in his films despite using an unconventional, non-linear way of telling his story.

Goodfellas (1990)

Despite having many central characters in this film, Jannah felt engaged to see more of all the different characters. She hopes that she could orchestrate such great performances from her actors in her future films.

Fight Club (1999)

Yet another timeless film, Jannah looks up to David Fincher for his storytelling skills in Fight Club (1999). She felt that the way he built the story up to the point of its reveal was nothing less than perfect.

The Truman Show (1998)

The Truman Show (1998) is a film that Jannah would consider to be most memorable. She loved how the mood of this film transforms from a frivolous, light-hearted one to something so much more dramatic and meaningful. She is inspired to make films that pushes boundaries and one that provokes the thoughts of its audiences.

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind (2004)

Jannah found the themes of Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind (2004) to be a thought-provoking one. She is enthused by the way Michel Gondry had beautifully put the film; toggling between dream and reality.

Oldboy (2003)

This film sent chills down Jannah's spine for days. She is inspired by Park Chan-wook's ability to actualise such an intense and thrilling world. She thought the methods he had used to lead his audience to the film's twisted end was clever - something Jannah hopes to be able to do in her own films some day.

Inside Out (2015)

Being a film that is targeted at kids and families, Jannah admires the film's originality in expressing such a heavy topic in an easily digestible way.

The Shining (1980)

Despite being inspired by films which are mostly in the psychological-thriller/drama genre, comedy and crime television also play a huge influence in Jannah's work. She enjoys the quick-wittedness of short comedies and the intense emotional drama from crime-themed series.
